Nowadays, more and more people prefer to tour in china.The first chiose is visiting the Great Wall. The Great Wall is a series of stone and earthen fortifications in China. It was begin to built since the 5th century BC and the most famous being the one built between 220 BC and 200 BC by the first Emperor of China who is Qin Shi Huang.
The Great Wall is longest man-made structure in the world's , stretching over 6,000km (3,948 miles) from Shanhai Pass in the east to Lop Nur in the west.
The Great Wall starts at the Jiayuguan Pass of Gansu Province in the west and ends at the Shanhaiguan Pass of Hebei Province in the east. As one of the Eight Wonders in the world, the Great Wall of China has become the symbol of the China.
There are lots of beautiful legends and stories about the Great Wall,such as Meng Jiangnu's story and the legend of the Jiayuguan Pass. Meng Jiangnu's story happened in the Qin Dynasty (221BC-206BC). It is talk about love. Meng Jiangnu's husband Fan Qiliang was caught by federal officials and sent to build the Great Wall. Meng Jiangnu did not got any information about her huaband after his departure, so she went to look for him. Unfortunately, she discovered that her husband was died. She was very sad and then she has been crying.Her tear destroyed the Great Wall.This story indicates that the Great Wall is the production of tens of thousands of Chinese commoners.

Another legend is talk about the Jiayuguan Pass. A workman name is Yi Kaizhan in the Ming Dynasty (1368BC-1644BC) who has a stroung skill in arithmetic. He got a answer that the Jiayuguan Pass would need 99,999 bricks to build . The supervisor did not believe him and said if he got the wrong answer abuot the 99999 bricks, then all of the workmen would be work hard and no pay in three years. When the project was finished, one brick was left behind the Xiwong city gate. The supervisor was happy from the wrong answer. However, Yi Kaizhan said :" the brick was very impotant to fix the wall.You could not to move it.If you move it and the wall would collapse ." But the supervisor did not believe him and to move the brick and then the wall was collapse. Therefore the brick was kept there and never moved. Today,you can find the brick on the tower of the Jiayuguan Pass. Many beautiful stories and legends was benefit to history and culture of the Great Wall.
