The Philippines is an ASIAN country in the South East, it has over 97 million people. It is divided into three territories: Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao.  The Philippines is an  "Island Country" which has over 7100 different islands during high tide and 7107 islands during low tide.  Also known to have the most beautiful beaches in the world.  The capital city of the Philippines is Manila, which is located in Luzon.  Most people who visit the country dont get a chance to see the beauty in it.  You have to live in the country to actually appreciate it.

Historical Places

Mayon Volcano is an active volcano in the Philippines on the island of Luzon, Bicol Region. Its shape is as perfect as an ice cream cone.  Its symmetric cone was formed through alternate pyroclastic and lava flows. It has erupted over 50 times in the past 400 years. Like other volcanoes in the Pacific Ocean, Mayon is a part of the "Pacific Ring of Fire"(wikimapia).

The Banawe "Rice Terraces" (Hagdan-hagdang Palayan ng Banawe) in Filipino are 2000-year old terraces that were carved into the mountains of Ifugao, North of Philippines by ancestors of the indigenous people. The Rice Terraces are commonly known as the "Eight Wonder of the World" by all filipinos. It is commonly thought that the terraces were built with minimal equipment, largely by hand. The terraces are located approximately 5000 ft above sea level and cover about 4000 square miles of mountainside.
